Choosing colors for your event can be a daunting task. With so many colors to choose from, especially for linens from our partner company, 5 Star Rental where they come in every color, it can be difficult to decide what color flowers, centerpieces, and decorations to select.
Colors are influential, meaningful, and emotion-evoking. They are the first thing you notice when you walk into a room, or when you look at someone’s outfit. Certain colors may remind you of certain associations such as schools, sports teams, and organizations. The color pink has been adopted as the symbolic color for breast cancer awareness, and the colors blue and silver are representative of the Dallas Cowboys.
Universally, the color green is associated with ecology and the environment. Here in Denton, green is the official color for the University of North Texas where they embrace the color with the nickname, Mean Green, for their sport teams and also their dedication to sustainability.
When you look at color, it subconsciously influences your mood. There is symbolism and a psychology to color as certain colors have different meanings depending on culture and religion. Here in the west, the color red is known as the color for passion, anger and love. In the east, it represents luck, happiness and prosperity as it is the color representative of the Lunar New Year.
